Busy Bee

We were up early again. While I was enjoying breakfast on the front porch, our underground sprinkler guy stopped by to inspect the system and turn it on for the season. I am glad he did, we need rain badly. Hubby had another living rosary ceremony this morning, this one in the next county. I went out to work in my gardens as soon as he left. This cute western honey bee was covered in pollen from these purplish azaleas. Some of the blossoms are getting old but I think they are still beautiful for the most part. I wore a mask while outside in hopes of deflecting the pollen. It is thick outside at the moment. I planted a lot of daffodil bulbs that my BIL dug up in WV. They are in various gardens on our property. We had a crimson maple coming up in the garage garden. I transplanted it next to a lilac that is failing. Sure hope it takes root and grows. I weeded as I decided where to plant bulbs. All in all, I worked about five hours and was ready to stop for lunch after my shower. Hubby picked up three prescriptions for me and bought a few bottles of “summer wine.” He came home and cut the lawn. I picked Brooklyn up from school and took her home. I plan to rest until it is time to leave to watch Parker’s last school lacrosse game of the year. My sister and BIL are joining us at the game. Jamie sent me a note he received from Parker’s teacher. He will be recognized as student of the week for his superb performance this week. We will probably go out for dinner. Hope you have fun plans for the weekend. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by. “If bees only gathered nectar from perfect flowers, they wouldn’t be able to make even a single drop of honey.” – Matshona Dhliwayo
