Planting

Winsford and I had some tea and toast together, chatting family history, arts and crafts, archaeology and clubs. When she set off for her bus I waited for the washing to finish and got it hung up then drove over to A’s, stopping to buy her a new ironing board and picked up some bedding plants that were on offer in the same shop. Cold and grey again today…disappointing! I’m hoping we get some warmth and sun in Siena next week!
Once I arrived at her place I played with Paisley a bit then we went over to the dump at Kelso to get rid of some of her garden waste and the old BBQ, then we had a lovely sandwich lunch in a little cafe in the town and a browse around a bookshop and charity shop before nipping into the garden centre. She’s keen to have a cottage garden bed alongside a path they are planning to build, so we got some potential anchor plants for the bed but decided just to start them off in pots so they can go into the bed once they’re a bit more established, and won’t get messed up by the creation of the path. We came home and started planting them up and I put the bedding plants in her tubs, then we brought all the herbs and the table and chairs back onto the decking. Paisley was doing zoomies round the lawn as we worked…she can be very funny when she’s in a mad phase like that.
We worked pretty hard but it looked good by the time we finished and she just needs to plant out her beans and other veg tomorrow that have all sprouted up nicely from seed in the greenhouse,
We relaxed a bit with a cup of tea then I got stuck into a pile of ironing and watched some catch up TV for a while…I love ironing, especially with the new ironing board!
Another relax on the sofa for a while then I came home and had some supper and realise m likely to be stiff tomorrow from all that gardening!
