Fun in the sun

With Michelle. Picked her up around 9.30 after a dip and filling up the car with fuel.
We made sure I knew where I was due to come off the A14 this time,  to avoid another missed exit. We chatted alot though and Michelle started making my list of things to do before I'm 60! We arrived at Bressingham, pulling into the Hall first instead of the gardens. The hall is used for functions and weddings. The gardens are next to a fabulous garden centre where we had coffee and enormous square scones.
I was happily surprised, as an RHS member we were welcomed into the Gardens for free and walked slowly enjoying the bursts of colour from azaleas and Irises and some leaning, dinosaur shaped conifer type trees. Our favourite spot, was the little stone and flint Bridge with sweet smelling azalea you could smell before you saw. This whole part of the gardens will be a riot of colour in the summer. We moved onto the second part which was called Foggy Bottom and was tree heaven. So many beautiful Acers and maples. We rested on a bench in the sun and took our shoes off to walk the lush grass and feel free. A gentleman moved a bench into the sun for his mother, who has been pushing her wheelchair.
We were surprised by the comments book on the way out, where a couple of comments used 'disappointing' in their write up. I'm not sure they'd had their eyes wide open! Maybe they needed to remove their shoes too.
A cool drink listening to the sounds of the steam trains and galloping horses carousel finished off a pretty perfect few hours.
A quick pit stop back at the garden centre to pick up some pea plants, then on towards Cromer. We stopped off at Alby Crafts for a cuppa and mooch in Gallery 10 where I picked up a new small jug for my collection and Michelle chatted to the quirky lady about life-like dolls.
An ice cream at windy, slightly chilly Cromer, where we seemed underdressed in our summer dresses and sandals.
Onto Wells for the possibility of a swim. The tide was coming in and the channel was running dangerously fast and still quite muddy. We passed on the swim for today.
I thought we could have a burger for tea at the Fat Cow, which is in the middle of a wildflower field, but an hour wait was too long, so we carried on to Sculthorpe and had a burger in the Aviator instead, chatting with Des and Frances who live in Moor Lane. He is an incredible one armed painter and decorator. Chatted to MrK before bed, tired and happy.
