Northfield

A walk around Burray. At Northfield farm, a world war battery overlooks Weddel Sound. The float is from a boat called 'Jacquie'.

The east side of the island was protected from the west wind which was gusting to 56mph. Saw my first sandwich terns of the year, also a merlin and ravens at what looks like a newly established nest. Also the first primroses of the year.
