Rainy day SP

Thank you all so much for the response to yesterday's image - I was blown away by all the hearts and lovely comments.

Unfortunately the weather today has been almost the complete opposite to the still, frosty conditions I captured. There were grey skies and strong winds for most of the day and I was part of the way through painting a ceiling during the only short spell of brightness!

Pretty much the whole of my day was spent painting or filling holes. Our house was significantly extended sometime in the 1980's and I'm not entirely sure how good the foundations of the newer areas are.... Certain walls show significant flexing as our clay soils shrink and swell with the changing seasons, causing the plaster to crack. I'm getting very good at making repairs now, though it's a bit disheartening to know that I'll probably be doing it all again in a few years!

As a consequence of the weather and my labours I didn't get out to take any photographs. Late this afternoon we had a couple of very heavy, squally showers that left an interesting pattern of raindrops on the window, and this was the only thing that appealed to me all day. And you get a blurred self-portrait too - I'm still not brave enough to do a proper one!

PS The white frame is actually part of the window and hasn't been added later.
