The return of snow -Stuc a? Chroin and Ben Vorlich

Woke up this morning to see that the "white stuff" is back albeit at a distance.

Stuc a' Chroin and Ben Vorlich, ( both Munros) are neighbours in the southern Highlands and today they are covered in snow.

From a distance they look like an identical pair but closer up they are different.

Ben Vorlich is a very popular hill walk from Loch Earn offering a fine viewpoint, whilst

Stuc a'Chroin is a more serious walk with rocky ground and scrambling.

On a fine day you get good views of the Western Highlands including Ben Nevis .
These mountains used to be popular with ski touring amongst hardy Scots skiers though the unpredictability of our winters have led them to seek mountains further north where there is more likely to be good snow coverage.

I hear that there was some excellent ski-ing up north before Christmas.
