The Kiltwalk

A Magical Kiltwalk Moment

I've been in Dusseldorf on business for the last few days and managed to find the opportunity to bring the topic of The Kiltwalk up during a break between meetings, as one does, and it resulted in me raising another 20 Euros for my efforts back in April, so I was well pleased with myself.

On the flights home (Dusseldorf to Heathrow and then Heathrow to Glasgow) I was flipping through the pictures on my iPhone to pass the monotony of the journey and I came across this picture, taken by Shaun Ward, which is one of my most treasured photographs.

Its a picture of me and my 15 year old son, Scott, crossing the finishing line after completing the Hampden to Loch Lomond Kiltwalk and it was a proud moment to have once again conquered the 26 miles, raising nearly £2,000 in the process and it was even prouder to have Scott walk with me pulling me round when the going got tough.

I just wish I'd had the energy to give him a hug as we crossed the line.

So for those of you taking part in this Sunday's Speyside Kiltwalk with friends and family then don't forget Shaun will be there at the finishing line to take your picture, so don't forget to smile, cheer or hug someone special when you cross that line.

And if you see me helping out at Aberlour then come and say hi, tell me your Kiltwalk story and we'll Blip it ;-)
