I'm ready for a frittata

After picking up Helena and then having tea out in the cabin, the skies darkened dramatically and yet another extended shower followed by drizzle ensued. I had a book on Basic Photography which I am slowly perusing. Today I was read/learning about light, refraction and lenses. Then I tried to put it into practice, but with little success.

I opened the cabin door as the rain hammered down and with some drops on the lens I followed the antics of several Bullfinches and Blackcaps on the far side of the patio. They were all fighting for space around and on the nyger seed feeder, which the overhanging leaves of various climbing plants was helpfully protecting them.

I came inside and remembered that I had promised to blip the asparagus which we are having for supper tonight. Helena had this morning put the asparagus shoots in a cup of water to keep them fresh, brought them up to me and helpfully suggested that I could blip them. I pretty much just took pictures of them on the table, but realise now that I should have changed lenses from the zoom I had been using for the birds. Ah well, I've learnt a bit about what not to do, which is actually quite useful.

Helena has found a rather yummy recipe for an Asparagus Frittata, which you can see a picture of in the background. I have high hopes and a glass of Chilean white wine already in hand as an aperitif. Bon appêtit.
