Knocking On Heaven's Door

Gateway to the tomb of Minh Mang, a little way out of Hue, on the Perfume River, so called because it flows over scented flowers at its source. There is little evidence of this by the time it reaches Hue.
It's interesting watching how people drive in Vietnam. The way it works is that you drive down the road as close to the centre as possible. When you come level with another vehicle you hoot your horn and they move over. If something going faster than you catches up with you it hoots and you move over. If you turn out of a minor road a few yards in front of a moped carrying a cockerel in a basket, a wardrobe door, a generator, a bundle of sugar cane and a family of five , shrouded by a plastic poncho to keep out the incessant rain, they just move over. There doesn't seem to be any aggression or road rage. It's a system, of sorts , and it seems to work.
