Early Morning on the Canal

It was cold and crisp, but sunny and bright on the C&O canal this morning. 
As you can see, the canal still has a thin layer of ice because of the recent stretch of below freezing weather.   We saw many other runners and walkers, taking advantage of an early start and the sunny conditions. My husband ran with his friend of nearly 50 years, and I walked with his wife who I have known for over 30 years.  We do this often on the weekends.
