Just 5 Minutes More

Spotted on my way back from an early morning class.

A fairly common sight here in Mexico City. And not because of inherent laziness or any other such stereotypical ideas about the Mexicans.

Unfortunately, for the vast majority of working Mexicans getting into the city can typically take an hour an half and longer depending on how horrendous the traffic is. You add to that, the fact that the typical working day is between 10 and 12 hours and you can see why people grab 40 winks when and wherever the opportunity presents itself.

Luckily for me all my teaching happens within a 20 minute walking radius from the flat. I once spent 3 hours travelling back and forth from a 1 hour class......only once. How people cope with that is something I'm glad I don't really have to consider.
