Changing

It was the afternoon of the SNP Constituency AGM which was held on the campus of the community school in Lochgilphead because our normal venue in Tarbert was expected to be too small.

So it turned out.   Over 80 people from across the constituency attended despite the weather.   Every branch had at least one delegate who had not been a member of the SNP this time last year and some had more than one.   The office bearers elected comprised some who had served before and some who were quite new.

Brendan O'Hara, the newly selected Westminster Candidate and I held  an excellent Q&A before the formal part of the meeting and at the formal part many of the posts were contested with good local candidates keen to contribute.

What a privilege it is to be in a party which is renewing itself and its mission in such a democratic way and which  is determined to serve Scotland well, whether at Westminster, or Holyrood or in the Council Chamber at Kilmory , the HQ of Argyll & Bute Council , a stones throw from this location and a place in desperate need of a radical political clear out.
