Sunday sunshine

Beautiful weather - against all the predictions.

I went out to get some fuel and found myself tempted by Elford Hall Gardens (only about five miles further on).

No kingfisher when I was around but I spoke to a couple of people and I know I'm right to look around the area where they are rebuilding the boat house.  One day...

Again, the orange-tip butterfly was too skittish, and so was the little brown one (probably a speckled wood), but I managed to snap this delightful brimstone - white variety rather than the yellow.

Sue, who is the lovely lady who welcomes people she notices, showed me a calendar made by her husband Lawrence, including very special shots of the kingfisher and an otter.... It's such a lovely place.

If I can work out how to include extra photos, they will be of one of the gardeners' little helpers, waiting patiently for them to finish their work and go on a walk. And some artistically shaped leaves.
