Dodging and Burning

Enthused by the Linton camera club session on portrait photography last week, I set up a mini studio in James's room and dug out my 50mm lens, which had got rather dusty.

My makeshift 'diffuser' and model held reflector didn't quite work so I've had to do some Photoshop 'dodging and burning' on this picture of my husband who was being more co-operative than our children this evening with my experimentation attempts.

I've now ironed the backdrop and ordered some better supplies online (foam board, tracing paper and spring clamps for under £30) so I can experiment some more and hopefully improve.

Exciting!
