Weir(d) Reflections

Finally got an appointment at the doctor today and got something to help ease my back - it's already showing signs of improvement.

More gentle walks the order of the day - so firm, even paths were used. I stopped alongside the weir at Thorp Arch / Boston Spa to take some shots of the reflections. The lovely wobbly distortion is caused by the water running down to the main weir drop just off to the right.

I would imagine that a good section of the bank on the other side will have been underwater a the end of December - around where I was standing there was flood detritus in the trees a couple of feet over my head!

In other news, the temporary footbridge over the river at Tadcaster was opened today - giving people easy access to facilities in both sides of town. Repair work on the main road bridge is underway - still expected to be a year until it re-opens.
