Bank Holiday

How fabulous it has been to have a day without school!! We started out doing an hour's reading/homework. She wrote some fantastic "compound word" based imaginative writing. She did an hour's music. We then headed for her final music lesson before tomorrow's exam. She worked really hard. They did a practise exam and then moved on to some clarinet. B taught her some new notes, planning to use most of the lesson to do so. Katie mastered it immediately! It was a seven sticker day!! After her lesson, she went to watch TV in B's lounge, where she found her cuddly toy cat that has become "Katie's" when she's there, sat on her favourite cushion. My lesson ended as a mutual friend of B's and I's arrived, so it was nice to see her in passing.

Katie skipped all the way home. We had a wee while together learning the first part of a new duet we've decided to learn. We prepped tea and set out lunch before Granny and Grandad arrived for the afternoon. Katie and Grandad had a long play in her room, a lot of which seemed to involve Katie cheating at a variety of games. I popped out for some bits and came back to find Granny involved in the games, and the cheating still occurring!

The weather completely changed mid afternoon and we ended up out for a gorgeous walk in the woods. On the way we passed a beautiful garden, totally full of bluebells with a gorgeous blossom tree. The blip. We then played in the woods for a while, it was lovely. We headed home and she did a practise exam for Grandad and Granny. Tea was very tasty and was followed by some clarinet. She did a total of 3.5 hours of music today!
