What a wonderful day!

This morning we went to a building where both a forge and a watermill have been lovingly restored. The mill has a horizontal wheel - very unusual anywhere in the world.

Here is the blacksmith hard at work. We saw the fire encouraged by the air from bellows and metal being hammered into shape. Everyone received a hand made nail at the end of the trip.

This afternoon we went on a boat sailing along the River Lot. It's been a very hot day - up to at least 38 degrees - so it was good to have the breeze on the boat.

Tonight we visited the house of Vitou in the nearest village. She is a superb cook and appeared in the Rick Stein programme, "A Frency Odyssey". We ate duck with prunes cooked in a very special sauce. That was one of the 5 courses.
