Mother and child

Early evening light caught this cow with her calf  and it reminded me of Damien Hirst’s iconic image: Mother and Child.

The images do not do justice to the actual work, where Hirst cut the cow and calf in half then displayed them in formaldehyde glass cases.
 
I have seen the work on  several occasions and it never ceases to shock/amaze me.
