Dress rehearsal

I hesitated for ten days over which image to post for her blip today! Since she began festivals, I have always blipped something from the dress rehearsal. But today was also her wee birthday tea. The phone snap of dress rehearsal wins, so it seems. She had a wobble in coaching a couple of weeks ago, being shy about performing her song and dance. But today all the shy was gone. She was beautiful and confident, remembered the changes and did all her dances including her duet. Her teacher spent a few minutes changing her ballet in a couple of places and she very quickly got the hang of that. She did a great job and her costumes looked great, despite a malfunction with her ballet shoe ribbons in her ballet. Well done baby.

She didn't have a proper party this year but I had planned a little surprise tea for her, though I ended up telling her about it last night. Six little monkeys came for tea and a little play, plus granny & grandad and my sister & niece. She decided to wear her new birthday practise tutu for the occasion. Of course.

We had a bonfire night type tea- hot dogs, bonfire soup, bacon rolls and later we had sparklers. The girls made tiaras and bounced on Katie's bed, whilst pillow fighting. Katie was quite adorably stressy about this! She had a birthday cake of course, though I am not sure I even have a single photo of that. Grandad perhaps does. She opened her presents and had a wonderful night all round!
