Indo-Pacific Permit

Indo-Pacific Permit - aka Snubnose Pompano are reputedly every bit as difficult to catch fly fishing as their Atlantic cousins.

So I was extremely happy to convince one to grab a little crab fly today - more by luck than judgement - I didn't even realise I wasn't casting to bonefish.

It explains why the fishing has been so hard over the last few days; at least some of the big tails waving in the air each morning were permit, which is probably why they would melt away even when I thought I'd made a good cast.
