Brief interlude

Woken in the middle of the night with crashing and clanging on the balcony as chairs got flung around. Yes the predicted arctic storm had arrived heralded first by gale force winds.
Tomorrow night, we are promised, the plummeting temperatures and snow arrives.

Well, it seemed a good day for a swim. At least it would be warm and cosy in the water.  Unfortunately I did not see the notice o the reception desk and attributed the almost empty pool, just two swimmers, to the atrocious weather.

Not so. The boiler had broken down. The water is cold. Very cold. Too late I am stepping into it...

Well if someone had told me that swimming in cold water could be both challenging, invigorating and that I would enjoy it I would not have believed them.

Surprising though it really is and half an hour later I am almost reluctant to get out of the water.

Managed to snatch a quick shot of sunlight on The Trossachs between showers.
