Sinking Why?

Every day still has to have its own first. Today's was going upstairs on the bus. How exciting. Reopens up more possibilities for getting a shop through the windows on the way to work. Here is one of the lawyers' offices occupying the ground floor of one of the Georgian Houses on the northwest side of the Walk just before you get to the bottom (i.e. left hand side as you come down). I remember we looked at a flat to purchase in that row of houses - a first floor, recently modernised. I think it would have been noisy, and it wasn't as spacious as the one we bought in the end (and lacked some our essential amenities like the balcony, the view of the castle and the balcony sunrises).

On the way to work for a couple of meetings, a PhD supervision, and then a trip across the Meadows to a meeting about Brexit and higher education at a rather plusher lawyers' office than this one. It was well attended by Scottish HE sector luminaries including at least one principal, multiple VPs, lots of senior admin people, and lots of other recognisable bods. During the course of that meeting, of course, a bunch of turkeys voted for Christmas down in London, although I was glad to see that Scotland's MPs, bar one, took a different position...

Walk from the office through the Meadows to Rutland Square.
