Duncryne Hill and Gartocharn village from the NE

A perfect day for outdoor photography with wonderful  "Turner' skies. Gartocharn is the only village in the parish of Kilmaronock. It lies on the main road from Balloch to Stirling, and is close to Loch Lomond. It is dominated by Duncryne Hill, also known as the Kilmaronock ‘Dumpling'. Tom Weir, climber, author and broadcaster ('Weir's Way'}, lived here until his 90s and used to trot up the Dumpling virtually  every morning to take in the sweep of the loch from this stunning southern viewpoint - see  30th Dec. Blip 2014. The 2nd photo is of Loch Lomond and the Ben from the steps of Ross Priory, with the wind whipping up the water of the loch and the 3rd is of the naturalised snowdrops in the grounds of the Priory.
