Clouds Hill cottage, near Bovington

This small cottage was used as a retreat and holiday home by T E Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) from 1921 until his death in a motor cycling accident in 1935.  The fatal accident occurred a few hundred yards down the road to Bovington.

To the left of the photo is Lawrence's cycle shed.

The cottage is both modest and peaceful: Lawrence described it as "an earthly paradise".
