Inside a Tuscan kitchen

What is Tuscan cooking really like?
Well, half of our group got a rare opportunity to spend the whole afternoon working with an Italian chef in her kitchen.
Then we ate all the food- all four courses.
The other half of our yoga group went to Florence.
( Lest you think we have had an easy day we had already had two yoga sessions.)

All the food is organic , vegetarian and mostly grown here.
So the afternoon began with a tour of their organic garden.
I must confess I was bowled over by the simplicity of the dishes, the attention to freshness and the loving care with which all the food was prepared.
There were no electrical cooking aids and all ingredients were prepared and chopped by hand.
It took me back to my early childhood and cooking in a Welsh farm kitchen.
