Visiting the Findhorn community

What image do you have of The Findhorn Foundation, tucked away on a remote corner of the north/east coast of Scotland?

A hippy hang- out or a new holistic way of living?
True its original image was that of hippies but its certainly not now.
The ideas it started with over 50 years ago are now mainstream- organic food, re-cycling materials, and an holistic approach to living from food to medicine.

All the houses are individually built using natural or recycled materials.
The one on the left is a nature sanctuary, a place for quiet contemplation, and the one on the right is constructed out of whisky barrels.

No two houses are the same and the Foundation attracts an international clientele with some coming for a day or two to those who do a complete life change and move up to the area either buying a house within   the Foundation or nearby.
It’s certainly impressive and attracts people looking for an alternative lifestyle.
