And the question is...

Dear Diary,

I can always rely on Gaylord to provide a bit of levity.  I thought the morning sun on his tail was great and it seemed to form a big question mark.  This is always a questioning time of year.  Specifically, when will the first frost come?  It has been around 42F in the mornings for several days and that always brings on some leaf drop and yellowing of foliage.  The garden knows its days are numbered.  We've had a killing frost before Sept 1st but it is rare.

We are also entering the dry spell that comes this time of year so another question is, when will we get some much needed rain?  I have to water the morning glories but the perennials take care of themselves and are tolerant of a dry spell but they aren't at their best.

So, we wait and in the meantime we relish the warm, sunny days.  We know those days are numbered too.  The final question is always, when will we be forced to turn on the furnace?  I hold off as long as possible.  That is what sweaters are for!
