RAGE outside Scottish Parliament

Here we are outside the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh and the BBC is filming the event (I am behind my own camera).

Planning Democracy organized this event to voice their deep concern over the new Planning Bill, details of which have just been announced.
They invited community groups from around Scotland to join them and we represented RAGE opposing Judy Murray's tennis centre on our Greenbelt.

Far from strengthening the powers of local communities in the planning process it is stitch up job giving even more powers to the SNP led Scottish government!

We did not make the television news because there was another demo taking place which grabbed media attention– Unite trade union were opposing the blacklisting of their members.

Apparently there is a database of activists and employers run checks of potential employees and if they are flagged up as a trade union activist they don’t get work. (See extra photo).

(Well, I thought my days of taking part in demos and marches were over…but this morning it was just likes old times when I was a trade union and feminist activist in Glasgow.)
