A life well lived

Today we attended the funeral of a very special friend who has just died a few months short of his 92nd year.

Independent until the last couple of weeks he walked daily and had recently renewed his driving license.

It was humanist funeral with a burial. A sign of the deep affection he was held in the community was that over 60 people came to his graveside on this cold December morning

In the end it was a beautiful ceremony with the sun shining and snow on the surrounding mountains.

Later at the eulogy and refreshments in a nearby hotel I was pleased to see that this photo I took of him some time ago was among those the family had chosen to show in a special photographic display.
