Temple

We slept a  bit late today and after breakfast I set out to explore the town while Marian decided to go to the gym and the pool. This temple was on the way but I can't remember exactly where it was. When I returned to the hotel I met up with Marian at the pool for a quick sploosh to cool off before we got some lunch.

In the afternoon I decided to go out to the old Protestant Graveyard which is where many of the christian pioneers of Penang ended up. It's also the resting place of Thomas Leonowens who married Anna, the schoolmistress to the King of Siam's children, made famous in 'The King and I'. I didn't see that grave but there are plenty of missionaries, governors and sailors and it's a lovely place with camomile underfoot and magnolia trees overhead as you can see in my extra. I've added a few more to my album here if you'd like to see them.

New Year gets to us in about 3 hours (we're getting it early being 8 hours ahead of the UK). I wish you all a very happy and healthy year in 2018.
