In which: I virtue signal

Thanks to a Twitter friend who saw my Blip earlier this week I went to a local farm shop to get my produce rather than the supermarket, meaning no plastic bags and much cheaper prices (mushrooms for 50p instead of £1 and in a paper bag rather than a plastic box covered in cellophane).

Then I went to Home Bargains and got washing powder in cardboard box rather than the plastic liquids that I usually buy. It’s also much cheaper - £12 for 100 washes rather than £7 for 40. I also got deodorant in glass containers rather than plastic.

Finally, I went to a recycling centre and took some plastics that otherwise I can’t recycle. I’ve enjoyed feeling that this has made an infinitesimal difference to the world but a big one in our house.
