Flower Friday: Mahonia

The weekend is here again, hurrah!  Actually, its not been that bad a week at work, but it is nice to have some leisure time to look forward to and to be able to please oneself for a change.

This is a shot of the mahonia that grows by the side of the house.  Its a spikey tough looking little shrub, but these small yellow flowers are very welcome indeed at this time of year.  I've taken this in the dusk this evening after getting home from work.  I've needed to use flash, and in order together the depth of field I have focus merged a number of shots using Affinity Photo.  It was slightly breezy unfortunately and there is a slight blurring at the edges where the plant has moved very slightly.  Very frustrating for the perfectionist in me but it was cold out there, and its even darker now, so I'm not going to try again tonight!

Instead, I think I shall go and see if I have a cold beer somewhere - well, it is the weekend!  I hope you are all kicking back and relaxing into your weekends as well.
