The Veranda Lounge

Marlane's birthday tomorrow and Ian's on the 14th so the four of us went out to the Veranda Indian restaurant down at Gloucester Docks. The owner was there and spent a long time after our meal talking to us, he has had a chequered life since his departure from Bangladesh when he was seven years old.
The meal was quite amazing, my starter sounds very plain with Olive Naan with Hummus. It was anything but plain, probably one of the most delicious starters I've ever had anywhere. It was all freshly made in the restaurant and described as;
"Oven-hot wheat naan bread brushed with ghee & covered with grilled protein rich hummus & flavourful olives"

I asked the owner if he would mind posing underneath the sign outside for my daily photo journal and he very kindly and readily agreed.

A really lovely evening, funny as well as you might expect with Kim and Ian.
Got home at nearly 2200 to the customary welcome of dogs greeting you with wagging tails, pushing each other out of the way to get the strokes and fuss.
