An ordinary life....

Anna...

We had the joy of a visit from our friends S & L and their angel of a daughter, Anna.

It is almost three years since we last saw them, when Anna was only nine months old.  Now she is three years and nine months old (or nearly four as she was keen to point out :-) and is looking forward to becoming a big sister in July.  The new baby is due a week after she turns 4!  Wow! Becoming a big sister is a very special birthday pressie in anyone's book!

Anna's parents are two of the most amazing people I know.  They invented the word inspirational.  And Anna is a chip off both blocks.  Such a happy, mannerly, loving little girl and intelligent too.  It's not every three year old who can speak English, Gaelic and Swahili!

We had a wonderful time catching up over lunch.  Lola was very excited by our visitors especially Anna, who Lola seemed to think was a very special toy for her to play with.

It was great to hear all about L's brother A back in Kenya (who's education we sponsor along with others) and how well he is doing.  He has accepted a place at university to study sciences and hopes in time to work in a medical laboratory.  He was worked so hard in difficult circumstances and L is rightly proud of him as are we.

I couldn't help feeling a little sad as they left (they head back up north on Wednesday) at the thought it might be another three years before we see them, but we will try very hard to make sure the gap isn't so long this time.

Anna was an absolute delight to photograph and I couldn't resist including some more photos of her in extras :-)
