Flower Friday: Plant souk!
Blipped on 25th March.
We all needed a lie in today after our very late night! It is Eileen and Verna's last day, so they arrived at us with their cabin baggage. I was trying to catch up with blipping and was looking at my photos. I tried really hard to get them on the TV screen so we could all see them, but absolutely no joy. Sometimes, technology just doesn't work.
The plan was to get to a nursery as Eileen wants to buy me a bougainvillaea plant for my balcony, and then have a drive out to the Big Red just to see the desert. It was well past lunchtime, and as SweetArt wants to eat a shawarma whenever it is possible, we drove out to Union Co-op for just that! Shawarmas secured, we then found a spot by the sea to eat them. That was a really good move as it was a real hit with everyone.
We made it to the nurseries in Warsan but not the desert drive. I am now the very proud owner of a topiary, grafted, bougainvillaea plant. It is fairly tall and in a ceramic pot, so extremely heavy. Fortunately, Eileen is a strong girl and together, we were able to get it up to the flat, but only through the front door!
There was enough time to get dressed for dinner at the Boardwalk (see extra). A wonderful setting but so sad that our time has come to an end so soon. We swung past the hotel to collect the rest of E&V's luggage and then had a bit of a scenic drive home, stopping off at Karama's own Ravi Restaurant for SweetArt to buy a favourite meal of Martin's to take back to him.
There was actually time to have a glass of sparkling wine before we dropped Eileen & Verna to the airport. Considering it is the start of the Easter break, the traffic flowed very smoothly and the airport didn't look manic. It's been an amazing week!
