Artichoke Bathed in Light (not butter)

I started the day in the best way possible. Giraffe5 and her family are touring this part of the country and we arranged to meet and have coffee. I was delighted to find out that it was her birthday. What a treat to be able to wish her Happy Birthday in person!

It felt like we have know each other forever and were catching up on the latest in our lives. The rest of the family came down to have breakfast before they were off to see Hoover Dam and other sights. What a wonderful family! Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me and I wish you safe travels as you continue your adventures.

I am so grateful for  the blip community. It draws people together through their love of photography. We find friendship through sharing parts of our lives and it gives us a desire to meet the people that we come to know from our daily encounters on this site. I have been privileged to meet several of my blip friends and I am looking forward to meeting many more.

I was happy to see that the artichoke was bathed in this wonderful light when I finally went out to find my blip. The hummingbirds were not cooperating, so I am pleased that the artichoke sat for this portrait.

I need to gather the recycling and garbage and get it to the curb for tomorrow's pick up.
