Into the Pale Woods We Go

We've been joking about the weather lately. I'd say that if we couldn't laugh about it, we'd probably cry. But then again, I like snow; and this time of year, it's here and gone so quickly. In true April fashion, we have been getting glimpses of several seasons - and even possibly all FOUR on some occasions - in a single day.

I took this photo in the morning, not far from Spring Creek. It's the same little jogging and hiking path that I showed you in the January 22 photo, Pathway Into a Dream. On that day, it was covered in ice and I could barely walk on it.

On this morning, the path was clear and green grass was trying very hard to take over the edges. Later in the day, there'd be snow squalls and white-outs; but none of that had happened yet. As I said, you never know what an April day might bring.

I took most of my shots in color, of course. But I snapped a few in mono, too. And I played with this one a bit: I bumped up the definition, the exposure, and the contrast. My changes yielded something that looks more like a drawing, I think, so let's pretend I drew this for you by hand, as into the pale woods we go.

Let's let our soundtrack song be this awesome track: Procol Harum, with A Whiter Shade of Pale.
