Rainbow Steps

Just the one blip today because we have stayed close to Rob & Becky’s as it is very warm and close weather wise and we have several more hours on a plane later this evening.

We’ve walked up and down the hill twice to breakfast and then lunch at Tamper and, in between times, done a couple of jobs left for us by Becky, watering the herb pots and the houseplants, clearing the perishables out of the fridge. Other than that we have caught up with e mails and read quite a bit.

My blip is taken walking back up the hill. These are rainbow steps which lead up to Tufts University. Lots of the buildings and, indeed, some of the large houses, house departments for the University.

Book: ‘The Silent Companions’ by Laura Purcell. I’m glad to have finished this one before we move on to the next part of our holiday and I don’t recommend it unless you like Gothic horror. The Guardian reviewer describes it as ‘Intriguing, nuanced and genuinely eerie.’ I just wanted someone to get a grip and I didn’t feel any sympathy or empathy for any of them. It reminded me of the old Star Trek and those crewmen who beamed down to the surface of some alien planet. You just knew they were going to get it first. Well you didn’t want to be a servant in Bridge House..and once the servants were gone....

Ps just dropped my pin on the google map and the steps have come up as the ‘Diversity Stairway’.
