Meeting an artist at their Open Studios, Chalford

We went to see some of the many artists' Open Studios as part of the SITE Festival 2018 here in Stroud's Five Valleys. We drove first to a private home in Brimscombe and then on to a converted warehouse in Chalford, right on the bank of the River Frome. 

I started talking to Susan who was exhibiting her paintings and it turned out Helena had been talking to her as well, specifically about producing cards. I ended up suggesting some possible ways to get better reproduction and offered to take a few photos of three paintings and to process them differently in Lightroom. I have just sent her a few samples of different adjustments to the white balance.

Susan Kester lives in a neighbouring valley and this woodland scene is just over the hill from us. I asked her if I could use a photo for my blip which she was happy about. I hope she may have a look. I said I would add her name and a link to her website. I notice that her webpage showing this and other woodland scenes is called 'The woods near me" ...... and us too.
