Red Clover

While out on shopping errands today I took the camera hoping a blip would show itself to me. At the first stop, the village and town office to pay the water bill, there was this tangle of clover with long, red flower heads lying under a tree. We are expecting some snow tomorrow and I felt the need to rescue these last flowers of the season. I found one ripe, dry seed head, too. This is just the variety of clover I have wanted to grow.
So I picked all the blooming stems and placed them on the passenger seat. I tucked the few loose seeds in a piece of folded paper for spring planting. Then I got in, opened the camera with flash, and took two photos. I wanted to try for more and better choices but the red battery light came on. The spare battery was at home... blipping was done for today.
