Scorched earth

It is some months since I have been up Dumyat, our nearest mountain, and the long hot summer has not only changed the  green mountainside into scorched grass but underfoot it is totally dry.


We have jsut returned from an epic film show of over three and a half hours without  break! it was a documentary on New York libraries called Ex Libris.

Fascianting yes but far, far too long. Even the Titanic- same length- had an interval.

Tonight though  if there had been an interval I wonder how many  of the audience of ten would have returned. Few I suspect. We wouldn't.
I do think the Macrobert arts centre should have warned people of the length.
