Giuseppe Penone: A Tree in the Wood at YSP

First trip to YSP for a while as I’ve resisted visiting the Giuseppe Penone exhibition, though I rather enjoyed these structures set against an interesting sky as we walked down to the lower cafe.

The purpose of our visit was to hear Norman Ackroyd talking about the  drawing and printmaking process which led to his current exhibition at the sculpture park, `The Furthest Land’, which we really enjoyed.  And who should come and sit next to us but Patricia from the Royal Photographic Society Contemporary Group and Rachel who I have met at West Yorkshire Printmakers (both of whom are York Printmakers), so we spent a very pleasant couple of hours over lunch and in the exhibition with them.

YSP was very busy today with lots of children (some being totally ignored by parents).  Are Sundays at YSP always like this or was this different because it’s the start of school holidays?
