An ordinary life....

Missed opportunity...

When D took early retirement nearly two years ago, he stayed with his dentist in St Andrews even though it takes an hour to get there (I can't talk, I stayed with my dentist when we moved here seven years ago, and she's a 45 minute drive away.  It's difficult to walk away from a dentist you know and trust :-)

His check up with the orthodontist was due this afternoon so the plan was I would tag along, do a bit of shopping then after the appointment spend some time at the east and west sands hopefully getting some decent seascapes.

Unfortunately by the time we arrived, the journey along the winding back roads had left me feeling a bit queasy (actually it might have been connected to my current malady, which I think is bronchitis) and I decided to sit in the car till I felt a bit better.  David's appointment didn't last as long as I thought it would so I was still sitting in the car when he returned.

I ended up staying in the car whilst he got the little bit of shopping I thought I'd pick up while there.  He also popped into M&S to buy tomorrow's lunch.  Nikiki and Esme are coming up and Nikki requested baked potatoes, cheese and coleslaw so happy to oblige.  Of course being on his own in M&S meant scones and a Victoria sponge found their way into D's shopping basket.  Happens every time and he has no idea how.

Thankfully whilst parked in St Andrews I was beside an interesting looking building.   I was drawn by the pink window and door surrounds and the blue doors, so that's what you get in place of the planned sea scape.

Thankfully by the time we got home the yucky (technical term :-) feeling I had, had passed.

Speaking to my friend today who's son took his own life at the start of the month.  I honestly don't know how she is functioning.  I am so thankful for her daughter and younger son who are proving to be a tower of strength and have made all the funeral arrangements.  A truly dreadful time for them all.
