Aakhi Jhyal/Tiki Jhya "Traditional Window"
This is the beautiful aakhi jhyal which is at Layaku,Kirtipur. This beautifully carved window is attached in between two house at Kirtipur. Aakhi jhyal is the Nepali language in which
Aakhi means "Eye" and Jhyaal means "Window". This beautiful window have been described as a symbol of Newar culture and said as Tiki Jhya in Newari language. Aakhi Jhyal is hand carved by wood in different designs. This window is especially made for decoration purpose in home, monuments and others.
