Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge and Canal
We drove down to Duluth to meet some friends for dinner. I was hoping to catch a ship going into the Duluth Harbor. For some reason there were five ships out on Lake Superior, looking like they were lined up, waiting to enter the harbor. We have never seen anything like that before.
This is the iconic Duluth Lift Bridge and Canal at the entry point from Lake Superior into the Duluth Harbor. A couple people are seen walking across the bridge. A great viewing point to see the ships close up. Today there were no ships but plenty of ice chunks heading out. On Thursday the high winds blew the ice in from the lake and now they are flowing back out. An interesting phenomenon.
And speaking of Duluth, the University of Minnesota-Duluth just won the National Hockey Championship for the second year in a row!!
