Kilbryde Castle-Open Gardens

This afternoon we enjoyed a touch of the “Downton Abbey” experience as we sat around the grand dining table enjoying a cream tea in Kilbryde castle surrounded by portraits of the Campbell family going back hundreds of years.

For the castle (see extra photo) has been in the family since 1659 and twice a year they open their 15-acre woodland and formal gardens to the public.

The gardens though are relatively modern, created in 1970 and provide a backdrop to weddings and other events today.
