The Young Man and His Chain

When you first look at this photo, you notice the pendant from the necklace. Whilst the pendant is beautiful, it’s the chain that holds all the value.

You wouldn’t expect it to be the chain because it isn’t the focal point of the image. There’s a story behind the chain that I’m going to tell you now...

A young man took an adventure to the Middle East to learn about the trades there. The weather was hot and hard to walk in. The sand was warm and the sky was clear.

The young man came across a merchant who was trading gorgeous jewels and jewellery. There were magnificent Rubys and Garnets; but the young man did not want these.

Instead a gold chain caught his attention. It was 22 carat gold. The young man traded with the merchant and came home with the gold chain.

Fast forward to Christmas 2018, and the chain was ready to pass on. A girl with blonde hair was wearing it around her neck with a new pendant.

P.S. This story is exaggerated a little for the purposes of entertainment like the Jewell’s. However, some merchants in the Middle East did give my Grandad a 22 carat gold chain that he passed on to me at Christmas.
