All Talk, at the Fringe.

We went along to see Iain Dale and his afternoon guest in his talk show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. This is the first time he has been; he has interviewed a different high-profile guest each day, eg Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister and John McDonnell Labour Shadow Chancellor to name but two. The interview we chose to go to was with Christiane Amanpour, the award winning British-Iranian journalist, war correspondent and television host. Amanpour gained a reputation for being fearless during the Gulf and Bosnian wars and for reporting from conflict areas. She has interviewed many World leaders and controversial individuals. She is now the Chief Global News Anchor for CNN and the host of CNN International's nightly interview programme. Christiane Amanpour has won a string of awards and accolades. I’d read up a bit in advance and listened to some podcasts, watched a few interviews and so on beforehand, to let me get the most from it. It was really good event, albeit the Teviot Row venue was very warm. The audience of circa 100 seemed really engaged.

We walked through some of Fringe on the way back to the car - it was busy, as aye.

The drive home wasn’t pleasant, there was very heavy rain with bursts of thunder and lightning on the motorway.
