Welcome to Oran celebration

It was a welcome to Oran party today when all the aunts and uncles, great aunts and uncles, cousins, (who are reckoned up in dozens) second cousins, his Nanna and Grandad and his great Nanna, (known as Nanna D) joined his Mum and Dad for a family celebration to say hello and welcome to the world.

The weather, which forecast thunderstorms, behaved itself for most of the afternoon allowing the children to play outside for most of the time.

A fine family occasion which featured copious amounts of food which all hands had been involved in preparing yesterday and today. All this food preparation and food eating created staggering volumes of washing up. Used 2/3rds of a bottle of washing up liquid, my hands will never recover.

Bookended the celebrations with a run to the Pentland reservoirs this morning and a brisk stroll around Balerno this evening whilst a thunderstorm was pounding Edinburgh. Fortunately, we were on the very edge and remained dry.
