The bullfinches have arrived

Not a great quality photo, shutter too slow and I'm too shaky - just taken through the window but nonetheless, a record shot of the event of my first sighting this year of a pair of bullfinches.

We've had some visit our feeders for the past 2 winters so was great to spot them again this morning. I think I read that they pair for life but the average lifespan is only a couple of years so not sure if these are the same pair as last year.

Photographically I got over excited, spotted them on the dead nettles across the road, dashed to grab the 70mm-300mm and started to snap, got a really ropey one of them both before realising that the shutter was too slow... Silly error not checking your settings before you shoot or at least resetting your camera to something more useful before putting it away!
